How to attract relevant traffic to your website

Start with the visitors you already have. Which pages generate enquiries, where do people leave and which services receive too little attention? Define success in terms of relevant enquiries and sales.

Find content gaps

Search Console shows queries, impressions and clicks from Google. Compare those queries with customer questions. Improve pages that lack terms, examples, specifications or a clear next step.

Review headings, navigation and search accessibility. Connect related content: link a guide to an appropriate service and a product page to delivery terms.

Distribute useful work

Publish original research, project write-ups and practical guides. Offer relevant publications evidence-based material, join professional discussions and list your business in suitable industry directories.

Google classifies excessive link exchanges and buying links to influence rankings as link spam. Mark paid placements with rel="sponsored" or rel="nofollow" in line with Google's policies.

Measure the contribution

Track costs, visits, qualified enquiries and sales for each channel. Compare equivalent periods, allowing for seasonality and product changes. More visits are useful when they come from people your offer can serve.
