Restaurant Website Development

A restaurant website does three jobs: shows the menu with prices, lets guests book a table and order delivery. Together with a Google Business Profile listing it brings guests from search and maps. Built in up to 10 working days.

In short

  • The menu is published as text on the page. Google reads PDFs less well, and they are awkward to open on a phone.
  • Booking in two taps: date, time, party size, phone.
  • Own delivery on the site costs less than aggregator commissions for regular guests.
  • Google Business Profile brings guests from "restaurant near me" searches and Google Maps.
  • Timing: up to 10 working days; with online ordering and payment, up to 15.

What should a restaurant website include?

  • Menu. Sections, dishes with photos, weight or volume, price, allergens, "spicy" and "vegetarian" labels. As text on the page, so Google indexes it and guests see it without downloading a PDF. In the dining room, a QR code leads to the same page.
  • Booking. Date, time, party size, name, phone. The request goes to the manager's Telegram or a booking system.
  • Delivery and pick-up. Cart, delivery zone on a map, minimum order, timing. Card payments via LiqPay, WayForPay or Monobank, with a fiscal receipt through Checkbox.
  • Contacts. Address, map, opening hours including holidays, one-tap calling, parking.
  • Atmosphere. Photos of the dining room, kitchen and dishes. Banquets, events and live music get their own pages.

Do you need your own site if you are on Glovo and Bolt Food?

Aggregators bring new customers, but they take a commission on every order and keep guests' contacts. A site with its own delivery works on repeat orders: guests remember your site, receive newsletters and order again. In practice restaurants use both: aggregators for reach, the site for regulars and banquets.

How do people find a restaurant on Google?

  • Google Business Profile. Category, photos, menu, hours, booking link, replies to reviews. For "restaurant near me" or "sushi Obolon", Google shows the map above websites.
  • Schema.org markup. Restaurant, address, opening hours, cuisine and menu link. Google and AI assistants use this data in their answers.
  • SEO pages. "Banquet hall for 50 guests", "business lunch in Pechersk", "catering". First visible results in about 3 months.
  • Instagram and Meta Ads. Dish and event photos, ads targeted to a radius around the venue. Launch within a few working days after access.

Which mistakes are common on restaurant websites?

  • A 15 MB PDF menu or a menu as an image: it does not open on mobile data and cannot be searched.
  • Old prices and dishes that are no longer served. Guests arrive and are disappointed.
  • Opening hours on the site and in Google Maps do not match.
  • A phone number as an image that cannot be tapped.
  • A background video on the home page that makes it load for 8 seconds.

We check all of this at launch and show the manager how to keep the data current.

Which technologies do we use?

WordPress when the manager updates the menu and prices. Next.js for chains with several locations and high speed. Booking and banquet requests go to a CRM (KeyCRM or HubSpot). GA4 and Google Tag Manager count bookings, orders, calls and route requests.

How long does development take?

From our experience, a restaurant website with a menu and booking takes up to 10 working days after the brief is agreed and we receive the menu, photos and logo. A site with online delivery ordering and payment takes up to 15 working days. A landing page for banquets or an event takes up to 3 working days. Integration with the restaurant's POS system is estimated after the brief.

From our work

For Fast Coffee, a network of self-service coffee stations in Canada, we built a MODX website for customers and future franchisees and did on-page SEO. For the Iceborn ice cream studio we built a brand landing page: flavours, where to buy in retail, and an English version.
