How to give an SMM manager access: Instagram, Facebook, Google Business Profile and TikTok

Sharing a company account password with a contractor is risky: it is hard to revoke, and you cannot tell who did what. All major platforms let you grant access by email or personal account and remove it in one step.
Facebook and Instagram
The simplest route is a business portfolio in Meta Business Suite (formerly Business Manager). Add your Facebook Page and professional Instagram account to the portfolio, invite the team member by work email and assign the assets they need with full control or partial access.
Without a portfolio, grant access from the Facebook Page itself: Settings → Page access. Facebook access gives admin-level control, while task access limits someone to posts, messages, ads or insights. A Page must always keep at least one person with full control.
Google Business Profile
Open the Business Profile → More → Business Profile settings → People and access → Add. A Manager role is usually enough for an SMM manager: they can edit details, publish posts and reply to reviews, but cannot add or remove users. New owners and managers get some permissions only after 7 days.
TikTok
Access to a TikTok account is granted through TikTok Business Center. A Business Center admin adds the person under Users, then opens Accounts → TikTok accounts, selects the account and assigns the member with the required permissions.
Team routine
- Grant access to each person’s own account and avoid shared logins.
- Assign the minimum permissions for the task and turn on two-factor authentication.
- Review the user list every quarter and remove people who no longer work on the project.
